the major players
- Big B (or the Rebel) – an ex-boyfriend with whom I maintained an open-door FTF relationship with for 2 years after our 10-month dating relationship tanked. After I made the decision to shut the open-door policy down in October 2006, he has repeatedly called me saying that I’m the best he’s ever had, that his happiest moments were when we were together, and that he didn’t know what he had until it was gone. I had no idea what to do with him when he resurfaced. But as of November 2008, the Rebel and I have re-established our open relationship and he visits me most weekends.
the friend list
- C – a friend. We met through MySpace two and a half years ago, and have remained close due to a common interest in athletics, athletes, and similar tastes in fiction and attitude.
- V – a sorority sister. We met in college and have developed and maintained a close friendship.
- A – a co-worker. A newlywed expecting with her first child, A and I grew close after having a series of discussions regarding relationships.
- H – the best guy friend.
- TIF – former co-blogger. A sorority sister and close friend.
the minor players
- Conrad (or The Saint) – the man of my heart, a friend. I’d drop whoever and whatever for the chance to be with him. He’s intelligent, sweet, considerate, genuine, hard-working, successful, and possesses every single quality I have ever desired in a man except one: that he desire me right back. We have never met, though we maintain an online friendship wherein we continually discuss our deepest concerns, our goals, and often, our confidences.
the Slut Hut Staff (non-existent)
- Maven – a discreet receptionist, hut manager, etc. She’s everything to the Hut and keeps everyone else in line.
- Cabana Boy – lounges poolside, ready to bring drinks and towels at any guest’s beck and call.
the former players
- Matt (or the Halfsie) – a longtime online friend, whom I find somewhat physically attractive. Our friendship is on-going, but I wouldn’t deny him a date or two just to see where things may go. We no longer are on speaking terms due to some of his dim-witted comments about larger women.
- Kelly (or the Kid) – the boy Aubrey is currently testing the waters with. We met through an online dating service and went from dinner to dirrrty in a matter of hours. He’s three years my junior, sweet, successful, and not precisely what I expected. He remains was a bit of a mystery, and I was attempting to figure out where, and how, will he fit into my life until I realized that it wasn’t going to work. This mini-relationship lasted August
